The weather on the Dolomites is generally good and there are less precipitation than alpine regions (Austria, Switzerland and France); the wind from the north usually brings good weather .... but as in all mountain areas, wheater can change suddenly expecially during July and August.
In Spring rains are frequent and it's hard to do outdoor activities.
In summer, from mid-June to early August, weather is hot, but dry during the day and cool at night.
From mid-July to mid August it's not unusual, during afternoon, to see thunderstorms and it's recommended to check the weather or the local mountain guides before starting a journey.
From September to October weather is mildly sunny with very cool nights and the possibility of snow on the highest peaks in the event of bad weather. During these months, larch and broadleaf trees change theyr color and also woods became spectacular.
During winter the snow covers the Dolomites and it's possibile to choice where to go skiing.
